Case study, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos
Ibeju coastal link road
11.6 kilometres of dual carriageway, side drains and four culverts, built through two rainy seasons.
The brief
What the client needed
Handed over October 2024A road across sand and swamp to open up new estates, with the rains due within weeks of the start. Communities along the route needed access every day of construction.
Our approach
How we built it
Drains first
Side drains and culverts were built ahead of the road, so the first rains drained instead of washing out fill.
Sand replacement
Over 2 kilometres of soft ground was dug out and replaced with compacted sand in tested layers.
Our own asphalt
A mobile asphalt plant on site cut haulage and let us pave in short dry windows.
Access every day
Temporary crossings and a community liaison officer kept every village connected.
