The engineers' minimum height for the sea wall was set by the highest tides of the last fifty years. We built 1.2 metres above it, because the next fifty years will not look like the last.
In front of the wall, a strip of mangrove seedlings is being planted. As they grow they slow the waves before they reach the wall, and give young fish a sheltered place to grow.

The first 600 metres of the promenade open in November, from the boat club to the water taxi stop. The full 2 km follows in stages as the villas are finished.
The promenade will be open to everyone who lives and works in Novaterra. The villa gardens and their berths are private, but the water's edge belongs to the city.
