Body contouring

Body contouring, in honest stages

Tummy tuck, liposuction, arm lift and after-pregnancy plans. These are larger operations, so the checks are stricter, the cooling-off is longer and the recovery is planned in detail.

Our approach

Before anything, a conversation

Body contouring removes loose skin and stubborn fat. It is not a way to lose weight, and it works best for people who are near a weight they can keep for the long term.

We will not operate on smokers until they have stopped for six weeks, and we check blood sugar, blood pressure and blood count for every patient, because these change how safely you heal.

Every result is personal and no outcome is promised. Surgery carries real risks, which your surgeon explains in person before you decide anything.

Risks, in plain words

What can go wrong

Every operation carries risk. These are the main ones for this area. Your surgeon explains how likely each is for you.

  • Blood clots in the legs or lungs, the most serious risk
  • Fluid collections that may need draining
  • Wound healing problems, more common in smokers
  • Uneven contour or loose skin left behind
  • Wide or raised scars on keloid-prone skin
  • Numbness of the skin, sometimes lasting

Questions

About body contouring

Can I combine a tummy tuck and breast surgery?

Sometimes, as an after-pregnancy plan, if your health allows. Longer operations carry more risk, so a staged plan is often safer.

How much weight should I lose first?

Ideally you are within a few kilograms of a weight you can keep. Your surgeon advises at consultation.

Is liposuction a weight-loss treatment?

No. It removes small, stubborn areas of fat and does not change your overall health.

When can I fly home?

After a tummy tuck, not for at least seven days, and only with stockings and walking breaks.
