How we keep the lights on in Port Harcourt

Organisers ask about power more than anything else. This is what sits behind the walls, and what happens in the half second after the grid drops.

Grid first, sets ready

We run on grid power when it is stable, with two 500 kVA diesel sets on automatic changeover. A changeover takes under ten seconds.

Batteries bridge the gap

Sound, streaming, lighting desks and the registration system sit on a battery system that carries them through the changeover. Guests see no flicker.

Fuel is on us

Fuel for the sets is included in every hire. We hold three days of diesel on site and log every refill.

Solar on the roof

Panels over the car park canopy cover daytime lighting in the foyers and cut our diesel use by about a fifth.

What to ask any venue

Ask what is on battery, how long changeover takes, and who pays for fuel. You should get a straight answer to all three.
