Buying a Lagos apartment from London or Houston
More than a third of our buyers live outside Nigeria. Here is how they do it without flying home for every step.
Start with a video inspection
Ask for a live video call, not a recorded tour. On ours, the sales team walks the show apartment with a tape measure, rides the hoist to your floor and holds the title documents up to the camera. Ask them to open a tap and switch a light off at the board.
Appoint someone you trust
You will need a lawyer in Lagos to review the contract of sale and, ideally, a family member with a power of attorney for the handover. The power of attorney should be specific to this property and stamped.
Pay in naira, into escrow
