05Why a network, not a warehouse
Shorter roads mean fresher stock and fewer stock outs.
Before 2021 everything left from Sagamu. A van to Maiduguri took five days and the chilled stock spent most of that time in traffic. Regional hubs changed the arithmetic: stock now travels in bulk on overnight trunk runs, then goes out on short local routes in the morning.
Each hub keeps two weeks of the fastest moving lines, so a pharmacy in Owerri can order on Monday and shelve on Tuesday. When a hub runs low it is refilled before it runs out, because the COVORN stock app tells the planner each evening.
