Diesel off the plant by 2028
Solar by day, gas at night, grid when it is steady. Diesel is now only for emergencies.
Home Sustainability
A plant that runs on the sun for most of the day, packs that use less plastic each year, and materials bought closer to home. With the numbers, including the ones we are not proud of yet.
01Our numbers this year
Example figures for this demo.
02Four commitments
Solar by day, gas at night, grid when it is steady. Diesel is now only for emergencies.
Thinner bottles, refill sizes for hospitals and card cartons in place of shrink wrap where we can.
Starches, sugars and cartons from Nigerian suppliers, audited to the same standard as imports.
Returned and expired medicines are collected and destroyed by licensed incineration, with certificates.
03Smarter routes
Regional hubs and planned delivery windows mean our vans drive about a fifth fewer kilometres per carton than in 2021. Drivers follow routes that avoid the worst traffic, which saves fuel and keeps chilled boxes cooler.
Next year we will trial two electric vans on short Lagos routes, charged from the Sagamu solar roof.
04Community
Twelve scholarships a year for pharmacy students from Ogun and Lagos.
Monthly blood pressure and sugar check days at the Sagamu plant gate.
A borehole and water point outside the plant, open to the community every day.
