A small firm that writes things down
Kestrel Capital began in 2012 in a two-room office near Ajah roundabout, with one belief: families deserve advice that is paid for openly and explained plainly. Fourteen years on, we are still small on purpose.
Why a kestrel
A kestrel hovers before it moves. It holds still in a strong wind, watches patiently, then acts precisely. That is how we want to handle your money: steady when the market and the naira are noisy, and decisive only when there is a reason.
Our founders spent years in banking and fund management, watching good families buy products that suited the seller more than the buyer. Kestrel was set up to sit on the other side of the table. We do not sell funds. We help you choose them, check them and replace them when they stop serving you.
Today we are a team of fourteen in Ajah, with clients from Lekki to Ibeju and by video across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Five promises we can actually keep
We cannot promise returns. These we can promise, and we put them in every engagement letter.
Paid only by you
No commissions, no kickbacks, no product targets. Our fee is on one page and it does not change because of what you buy.
Everything in writing
Every recommendation comes with the reason, the example rates used and the risks, in a document you keep.
Your name on everything
Investments are held in your name by licensed custodians. We never hold client money in our own accounts.
Two pairs of eyes
A second adviser checks every plan and every change before it reaches you.
Answers within a day
Calls and WhatsApp messages answered within one working day, by someone who knows your file.
Plain English
If we use a word you do not know, stop us. We would rather explain twice than have you nod along.
Fourteen years, one method
The tools have changed. The method of listening, writing and reviewing has not.
2012: two rooms near Ajah roundabout
Two founders, a borrowed printer and the first twenty families, most of them teachers and doctors on the Lekki-Epe corridor.
2016: the quarterly review
We started sending a short written report every quarter. Clients told us it was the first time they understood their own money.
2020: video reviews
Lockdown moved every meeting online. We kept video as an option, and now a third of clients never need to face the traffic.
2024: the goal planner
Our in-house planning sheet became the online planner you can use for free, with example rates and inflation built in.
2026: fourteen advisers and staff
Still one office, still fee-only, with a lead adviser and a checking adviser on every client file.
Easy to reach, easy to park, never dark
Our office sits just off the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Ajah, with parking for clients, a quiet inverter and generator, and a meeting room that is actually quiet. We set early and late appointment times so you can miss the worst of the traffic, and Saturday mornings are kept for working parents.
- Weekday meetings from 8:30 am, last slot 4:30 pm
- Saturday 9 am to 1 pm by appointment
- Video and phone reviews for clients outside Lagos
- Step-free entrance and a ground-floor meeting room

Meet us before you decide
The first review is a conversation, not a sale. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
