Shop and SME cover

One policy for traders, shops, salons, pharmacies and workshops: stock, fire, burglary, goods on the road and money in the till. Priced for Dugbe and Bodija, not for Victoria Island towers.

Why it matters here

Business cover for how life really works in the South West

Market fires and burglaries can wipe out a trader's stock in one night. Most small businesses in the South West are uninsured because cover looked complicated and expensive. We made it one form and a monthly payment.

  1. 01

    Stock and equipment

Goods, shelves, freezers, sewing machines and generators.

  2. 02

    Fire and burglary

Including market fires that start in a neighbouring shop.

  3. 03

    Goods in transit

Stock on the way from Lagos, Aba or Kano, by road or by your own van.

  4. 04

    Money

Cash in the till, in the safe overnight and on the way to the bank, plus POS fraud cover.

  5. 05

    Business interruption

Lost profit while you rebuild, for up to six months.

  6. 06

    Staff and public

Injury to staff and customers on your premises.

A small team meeting around a table

When the fire started in the next line at the market, I thought it was over. The restock advance paid on Tuesday and I reopened the Monday after.

Honest limits

What this cover does not do

Read these before you buy. The full policy wording is in your account and at every branch.

  • Stock kept in an open stall overnight without a lock up
  • Loss you discover only at a stock count with no sign of break in
  • Fake goods and goods without a supplier receipt

Questions

Business cover, answered

I do not keep formal accounts. Can I still claim?

Yes. Supplier receipts, a simple stock book, POS records and WhatsApp orders all help prove what you had.

Can I pay daily?

Yes. Market trader cover can be paid daily or weekly by transfer or through an agent who visits the market.

Do you cover shops in open markets?

Yes, for lock up shops and kiosks that close with a lock. Open stalls are not covered overnight.

Can my association insure members together?

Yes. We offer group rates for market associations of 30 or more members.
