Emergency and trauma
Emergency care, open every hour of every day.
A nurse assesses you within minutes of arriving at Gate 2. We stabilise first and sort payment and HMO forms after you are safe.
Overview
What this centre does.
Gate 2, ground floor. Follow the lime line from Gate 1.
Our emergency department sees about 70 people a day, from road accidents on the expressway to children with high fevers at 3am. It has its own entrance, a lime canopy for ambulances and a team led by a consultant in emergency medicine around the clock.
Everyone is seen in order of need, not order of arrival. That means a person with chest pain goes before a person with a sprained ankle, and we will always tell you how long you are likely to wait.
