A hospital group built for Akwa Ibom, run like a good neighbour.
Avenor opened its first clinic in 2011 with four doctors and a borrowed generator. Today it is a medical city of fourteen centres, still owned and led from Uyo.
Our story
From a four room clinic to a medical city.
Our founders, two doctors who trained in Calabar and worked for years outside Nigeria, came home with one idea: ordinary families in Akwa Ibom should not have to travel to Lagos, Abuja or abroad for good, ordinary care. The first Avenor clinic opened on Ikot Ekpene Road with four doctors, eight nurses and a generator borrowed from a cousin.
We grew one centre at a time, only when we could staff it properly. Maternity came in 2014, diagnostics in 2016, the Heart centre in 2019 and the full campus, with Avenor Tower and the surgery podium, in 2024.
What has not changed is the way we work. Prices are published. Doctors explain. Nobody in an emergency is turned away while we argue about a deposit.
