EvermoreVillage, Victoria Island

Our story

Built for one mother, home to eighty-six

Evermore began with a daughter looking for somewhere her mother would be happy. It is still run by the same family.

What we believe

Five things we hold to

  1. 1

    Your own front door

Every resident has a lockable home of their own, with their own furniture, photos and routines.

  2. 2

    Choice, every day

When to wake, what to eat, whether to join in. We plan around people, not the other way round.

  3. 3

    Dignity in care

Help is given quietly, with curtains drawn and doors closed, by people residents know by name.

  4. 4

    Families stay close

Visit any day, stay for lunch, call the nurses' station at any hour.

  5. 5

    Honest about limits

We tell families plainly what we can and cannot do, and help them find the right place if it is not us.

The place

Four acres on the lagoon

The village sits on a quiet crescent in Victoria Island, behind a wall of palms and flame trees. Shaded paths, all step free, link the cottages to the dining hall, clinic, music room, library, pool and chapel. A boardwalk runs along the lagoon edge for evening walks.

We run on mains power with two generators and a solar and inverter system, so lifts, fans, cold rooms and medical equipment never stop.

Registration and standards

How we are checked

  1. 1

    Registered care home

Registered with the state health authorities, with our certificate on the wall in reception. Registration details are available on request (example).

  2. 2

    Inspected and audited

Unannounced inspections, plus our own monthly audits of medicines, falls, food and cleanliness.

  3. 3

    Trained team

Every carer completes our induction and yearly refreshers in moving and handling, first aid, dementia and infection control.

Come for lunch and see for yourself

Most families decide after one visit. Walk the gardens, meet the nurses, sit in a cottage and stay for lunch in the dining hall. It is free, and there is no pressure.
