The story of Dawn silk
Silk carpets are woven so finely that the drawing is almost like a painting. This one holds about 3.3 million knots. Seen from one end it looks pale and silvery. Walk to the other end and it turns warm ivory and blue, because the silk pile catches light differently from each direction.
It is made for a room where it will be seen more than walked on: a bedroom, a study, a formal sitting room. Many of our clients hang a silk like this on a wall, and we fit a hidden hanging sleeve free of charge.

Keep it out of direct sun and away from heavy traffic. Only our wash house should wash it. Never use a beater bar.

Can I walk on a silk carpet?
Yes, barefoot or in soft shoes. It is less forgiving than wool under heavy furniture or outdoor shoes.
How do I know it is real silk?
We burn test a fibre in front of you if you wish, and your receipt states pure silk pile and foundation.
Can it be hung?
Yes. We sew a hidden sleeve along the top and fix a timber batten to your wall at no extra charge.
