Seven steps, about ten days

  1. 01

    Inspect and photograph

We record every mark, weak spot and repair, and send you the photos the same day.

  2. 02

    Dust out

Hand-knotted carpets hold kilos of fine dust. We beat it out from the back on a frame.

  3. 03

    Test the colours

A damp cloth on every colour, to be sure nothing will run.

  4. 04

    Wash by hand

Cool water, a gentle wool wash and soft brushes, following the pile.

  5. 05

    Rinse and squeeze

Many rinses, then a roller press to remove water without twisting the carpet.

  6. 06

    Dry in the shade

On racks under cover for two to four days, turned often, never in harsh sun.

  7. 07

    Groom and return

The pile is brushed, fringes combed, and the carpet returned rolled in clean paper.

Scene 05Questions

About care

Do you clean carpets bought elsewhere?

Yes, any carpet, including machine-made ones. We tell you honestly if one is not worth the cost of a wash.

How often should a carpet be washed?

In a Lagos home, every two to three years for a living room, more often with pets or small children.

Will washing fade my carpet?

Not with our method. We test every colour first and never use bleach or harsh detergent.

Is my carpet insured while with you?

Yes, from pickup to return, at the value you declare or our valuation.

Not sure what it needs?

Send us three photos on WhatsApp: the front, the back and the worst corner. We reply with a price the same day.
