The story of Lagoon gabbeh
Gabbehs are woven by nomadic families, traditionally for their own use. The pile is long and the wool hand-spun, so they are deep and soft underfoot, and the design is free: a few figures, a lot of colour, and no rules.
The Lagoon has bands of deeper and lighter teal because each batch of wool was dyed separately. The small cream goats and saffron trees were the weaver's choice. It is our most requested bedroom carpet, because it is the first thing your feet touch in the morning.

Care for this carpet
Long pile hides dust, so vacuum gently every week. It sheds a little for the first month, which is normal for hand-spun wool.
Your first hand wash in our wash house is free after twelve months. See care and restoration
Does it shed?
A little for the first few weeks. That is loose fibre from spinning, not the carpet wearing away.
Is it good in an air conditioned room?
Yes. Wool holds moisture well and keeps the room feeling soft and warm on cold floors.
