Questions
Questions people ask us
If something here is not clear, call or WhatsApp the front desk. There is no such thing as a silly question.
Part 1
Privacy
Is it really confidential?
Yes. What you say stays with your counsellor and their supervisor, who never knows your full name. The only exceptions are a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or a court order.
Will my employer or family find out?
Not from us. We do not share anything without your written permission, and employer schemes only receive anonymous totals.
How are notes kept?
Brief notes are kept in a locked cabinet and an encrypted system, and are destroyed seven years after your last session.
Part 2
Sessions
What if I do not know what to say?
That is very normal. Your counsellor will help with gentle questions, and silence is fine.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, to wait with you. If you want them in the session, tell us when you book.
Can I choose a man or a woman?
Yes, and the language: English, Hausa or Pidgin.
Part 3
Practical
Where do I park?
Inside the compound on Kachia Road. Tell the gateman you are visiting the first floor.
What about power cuts?
Generator and inverter backup keep fans, lights and the video link running.
Do you see people online outside Kaduna?
Yes, anywhere in Nigeria, by video or phone.
Part 4
Safety
Is this an emergency service?
No. If you or someone else is in danger right now, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency unit.
What if I feel worse after a session?
It happens sometimes, especially early on. Tell your counsellor next time, or call the desk in office hours.
Do you prescribe medicine?
No. Counsellors do not prescribe. We are happy to work alongside your doctor with your permission.
