How a cake comes together

From a chat to your table in four steps.

Most celebration cakes need five days. Weddings and towers of four tiers or more need three weeks, because sugar flowers take time.

Step one

Talk it through

Tell us the date, the guest count and the feeling. Use the cake designer, WhatsApp us, or sit with us over a pot of tea.

Step two

We sketch it

Within a day you get a drawn sketch, flavour notes and a firm price. Changes are free until you approve.

Step three

We bake and finish

Sponges are baked two days before, filled and chilled overnight, then finished by hand on the morning.

Step four

Delivered cool

Our chilled van leaves before the traffic builds. We set the cake up, photograph it and leave you the box.

The zobo velvet tier disappeared first. Guests kept asking who made it and I kept sending them here.

Our office books afternoon tea every quarter. The room is calm and the staff remember our usual pots.
