Why students and parents choose Northwind

Flight training is a large decision for a family. These are the six things we are judged on.

Safety first, every flight

Every sortie starts with a briefing card and ends with a debrief entered the same day. Our safety officer reviews every occurrence report on Monday mornings.

One instructor, start to licence

You keep the same lead instructor through each licence, so nobody has to relearn your habits and gaps. Ratio of three students to one instructor.

Fuel and power sorted

We hold a month of fuel at the base and run the simulators on inverter and generator backup, so a grid outage or a fuel queue does not cancel your lesson.

Lessons around Lagos traffic

The academy bus leaves Ikoyi at 5.30am and returns by 2pm, so you fly the calm morning air and miss the worst of the Third Mainland traffic.

Pay in stages

Fees are split by phase, payable by bank transfer, card or POS. Nobody pays an 18 month course up front, and every payment gets a receipt.

A logbook you can trust

Your hours are logged digitally and in ink, countersigned by the instructor and visible to you in real time, ready for any licence or job application.

Example figures for this demo.

The fleet you will fly

Maintained on site by our own engineers, with every defect logged and cleared before the next flight.

The hour building route packs took me to Ibadan, Ilorin and back with real planning every time. My examiner noticed.
Tunde, example graduate, commercial licence
My son is in ground school. I get a termly report with his exam marks and flying hours, and the fees schedule never surprised us.
