About Northwind

A flight school founded in 2011 by two airline pilots who were tired of watching young Nigerians travel abroad to train. Today we train around 90 students a year in Lagos.

Why we started

Training abroad costs families foreign exchange, separates students from home for two years, and leaves them unfamiliar with the weather and airspace they will actually fly in.

We built Northwind to offer the same standard here, with instructors who know the harmattan haze, the rainy season squall lines and the radio calls at our busy airports.

What we hold ourselves to

Safety above schedule

Any instructor or student can cancel a flight for safety without explaining to anyone first. We review it afterwards, never in the moment.

Honest records

Students see their own hours, exam results and instructor notes as they are written. Parents get a termly report.

Clear money

Fixed phase fees, receipts for everything, and phase fees held separately until the phase starts.

No false promises

We never promise jobs. We promise good training, careers help and the truth about your progress.
