What is due, and when

A general guide to the national childhood schedule. Your nurse checks the vaccination card and confirms what is due at each visit.

    At the visit

    How we make it easier

    • Hold and feed

Babies can be held, cuddled or fed during the injection.

    • Quick and calm

Two nurses for two injections, so it is over at once.

    • The card updated

Your vaccination card is filled in and photographed for your record.

    • After care

Advice on fever and sore legs, and a number to call at night.

    After vaccines

    What is normal

A little fever, a sore spot and a grumpy evening are common for a day or two. Offer feeds often and plenty of cuddles.

Come in or call if your baby is very hard to wake, has a fever in the first weeks of life, has trouble breathing or has swelling of the face. These are rare, and we are here at every hour.

    Questions

    Parents ask

We missed a vaccine. Is it too late

Usually not. Bring the card and the nurse will plan a catch-up.

    Do you give travel vaccines

Yes, for children travelling abroad. Book a vaccination visit and tell us where you are going.

Can my baby have vaccines with a cold

A mild cold is usually fine. The nurse checks your baby first and will tell you if it is better to wait.

    Next vaccines coming up

Book a vaccination visit and we will send a reminder for the one after.
