Ola’s story

Ola goes to the hospital

Five little pages. Grown-ups can press read aloud.

  1. 1

    Ola wakes up early

Ola the tortoise is going to the hospital today, just for a check-up. Ola packs a favourite toy and a little snack.

  2. 2

    The front desk

A kind person at the desk says hello and gives Ola a sticker. There are fish swimming in a big tank.

  3. 3

    The nurse

The nurse measures how tall Ola is and how heavy. The thermometer beeps. It does not hurt at all.

  4. 4

    The doctor

The doctor listens to Ola’s heart with a stethoscope. It sounds like a little drum. Ola can listen too.

  5. 5

    Brave and done

Ola’s grown-up was there the whole time. Ola goes home and tells everyone about the fish.

Why this page exists

Children cope better with things they can picture. Ola’s story walks through a normal visit in the same order it really happens, and the colouring gives restless hands something to do in the waiting area too: we print it on paper at the front desk.

Grown-up questions

Is the saved picture sent anywhere

No. It is made on your phone and saved straight to it. Nothing is uploaded.

Can older children use it

Teenagers usually prefer the visit guide, which explains things plainly.

Ready to meet Ola for real

Book a visit and choose Ola as your buddy. There is a big Ola on the wall by the front desk.
