What a year of fixed days does

Numbers from our routes and yard over the last twelve months. Example figures for this demo.

4,380tonnes collected
1,120tonnes sorted and sold on
96per cent of pickups on the day
61people employed, most from Abeokuta

Less burning, fewer blocked gutters

Before fixed days, many streets in Oke-Ilewo burned refuse at night or left it by the drains, and the first rain carried it into the Ogun. Estates on our routes report fewer flooded gutters in the rainy season, and their residents association no longer chases cart pushers.

What we sort at the yard goes to plastic flake makers in Ota, a paper mill buyer and scrap dealers, all paid by weight.

Chapter 07

From the estates we serve

Our association used to argue every month about refuse. Now the truck comes Monday and Thursday before work and nobody talks about it.

Folake, example client, Palmgrove Court

The reminder the night before is the part I love. I put the bin out and go to bed.

Tunde, example client, Asero

We sell our cans and cartons back. It pays for the shop's refuse service and some.

Mrs Adebayo, example client, Panseke

Missed one pickup in the rainy season. They came back the next morning without me asking twice.

Example client, Elega
