Generation
Where the power is made.
Two power stations, two kinds of fuel. Gas carries the base load day and night; the sun takes part of it by day and batteries return it after dark.
The stations
Two plants, one grid
The mix
Where each unit came from last month
Example figures for October 2026.
The batteries share is energy stored at midday and released after 6pm.
Running it
The control room
The control room on Ring Road watches every plant, line and feeder, 24 hours a day. When demand rises at 7pm, the controllers bring on another turbine; when a line trips, they reroute power before most customers notice.
- Two controllers on every shift, never one
- Every switching action logged and checked
- Direct lines to every crew and substation
Safety and the air
Cleaner than the generators it replaced
0.42 tCO2 per MWh at Omi-Adio, example
61%less than small diesel generators
400people employed across both plants
0lost-time injuries this year
Next step
See a power station.
School and community groups can book a guided visit to Omi-Adio on the first Friday of each month.
