The network

What carries the power

132 kV lines

186 km

From Omi-Adio to Ibadan, Oyo and Osogbo.

33 kV lines

640 km

Between substations and to large factories.

Substations

11

Each with two transformers, so one can rest.

11 kV feeders

35

Into every town, each with its own crew.

Reliability

How we keep it on

  1. Two transformers in every substation

If one fails or needs work, the other carries the load while we fix it.

  2. Rings, not lines

Ibadan's 33 kV network is a ring, so power can reach a substation from either side.

  3. Crews by feeder

Every feeder has a named crew and a target to restore faults within 90 minutes.

  4. Trees cut before the rains

Every line is walked and cleared between January and March.

Questions

About coverage

My street is not listed. Can I still connect?

Possibly. If you are within 400 metres of one of our 11 kV lines, a short extension may be enough. Ask through the connection form.

What does Band A mean?

Band A areas average 20 hours of supply a day or more. Your band is printed on your bill and set by the regulator's rules.

Why do hours differ by town?

Newer extensions run on fewer feeders. Hours rise as we add second routes and more transformers.

Next step

Not on the grid yet?

Apply anyway. Streets that apply together move up the extension list.
