How it works
From fuel to the lines
Gas arrives
By pipeline from the national network, metered and cleaned on arrival.
Turbines
Four 60 MW units. Usually three run while the fourth rests or is serviced.
Heat recovery
Unit 4 has a steam cycle that turns waste heat into another 18 MW.
Out to the grid
Two 132 kV lines leave the plant, one towards Ibadan and one north to Oyo.

The people
Who runs it
Most of the team live within 20 kilometres of the plant. Every operator trains for two years before working a shift alone, and every shift starts with a safety briefing at the gate.
- Apprenticeships with the Ibadan technical colleges
- Three shifts, seven days a week
- Local suppliers for food, transport and cleaning
Questions
About Omi-Adio gas plant
What happens if the gas supply drops?
We keep a two-day reserve of liquid fuel on site for two turbines, and the solar farm and batteries carry part of the load.
Is the plant noisy?
Each turbine sits in an acoustic hall. At the plant fence the sound is quieter than the main road.
Can we visit?
Yes. Community and school groups can book a guided visit on the first Friday of each month through the contact page.
