FAQ
Your questions, answered plainly.
The things customers ask us most often, grouped by topic. If yours is not here, ask Vablus or call the AI line, day or night.
Part 1
Supply
How many hours of light will I get?
It depends on your feeder's band. Most of Ibadan is Band A, averaging 20 hours or more. Check your area on the grid page.
Why does my light go off at times?
Planned work, faults on the line or, rarely, a plant trip. Planned work is announced 48 hours ahead by SMS.
Do you supply outside Oyo and Osun?
Not at the moment. Our twelve towns are in Oyo and Osun States.
Part 2
Meters and bills
How do I get a meter?
Apply on the connection page, book an inspection and pay the fee. A meter is fitted within 10 working days.
Do you send estimated bills?
No. Every customer has a meter, and you pay for what the meter records.
I lost my token. Can you resend it?
Yes. Sign in to the customer area or call the AI line with your meter number.
Part 3
Business
Can I get a dedicated transformer?
Yes, for plazas and groups of shops. See the business page and add it to a quote.
Do you offer contracts with agreed hours?
Yes, for industrial customers from 500 kW.
Part 4
Safety
What do I do about a fallen cable?
Keep 10 metres away, keep others away and call the AI line straight away.
Can I connect my own generator to your line?
No. Generators must be wired through a changeover switch fitted by a licensed electrician.
