Vans that report back
Forty-two reefer vans and trucks, each with a sensor, a backup plan and a controller watching. Here is what is inside.
Example figures.
Inside every vehicle
Five layers of protection
Two sensors
One in the air flow and one at the back of the load, reading every 60 seconds, stored on board and sent over two networks.
Backup cooling
A second unit on trucks, and plug-in standby on vans, so cooling continues if the engine stops.
Door sensors
Every opening timed and shown on your tracking page.
Location
Position every minute, with geofences at hubs and customers.
Power
Battery packs keep sensors logging for 48 hours.
Maintenance
Serviced before it is due
Every vehicle is serviced every 10,000 km and its cooling unit every three months, at our own workshop in Ilorin. Drivers run a 20-point check before each trip, including a pull-down test that proves the box reaches temperature in time.
A van that fails any check does not leave the yard. Spare vans stand by at the hub every morning.
Software
The control room dashboard
Controllers see every consignment on one screen: position, temperature, door state and arrival time, with alarms ranked by risk. Customers see the same readings on their tracking page, and accounts can receive them by email or through a data feed.
- Alerts by WhatsApp, SMS and email
- Daily summary of every delivery and reading
- Monthly reports on time out of range, by route
Questions
About the fleet
Do you use subcontractors?
Rarely, and only vetted partners with our sensors fitted, shown clearly on your tracking page.
What happens in a breakdown?
Backup cooling starts, the controller sends the nearest spare van, and goods are transferred with the doors timed.
Are drivers tracked for speed?
Yes. Speed and harsh braking are monitored, and drivers are coached weekly.
