Case study
Harbour Crest Hotel, Victoria Island
Modernising three lifts in a hotel that stayed full.
The hotel's three 1998 lifts broke down eleven times in one quarter. Guests complained online, and conference bookings were at risk. The owners asked for new lifts without closing a floor.
We chose a level 3 renewal: gearless machines, new controllers with rescue devices, new doors and cabins in the hotel's own walnut and brass finish.
One car was renewed at a time over eleven weeks. Noisy work ran from 1am to 5am, and the work area was boarded in finished panels so the lobby still looked like a hotel.
In the year since, the three cars have had two minor faults between them. Energy use for the lifts fell by about a third. Example case study for this demo.
