About Atlas
Atlas Lifts began with two engineers and one van in Ikoyi. Today 86 people look after more than 1,100 lifts and escalators from offices in Lagos and Abuja.
History
Example history for this demo.
Engr. Tolu Adeyemi and Engr. Chidi Okafor (example founders) start Atlas with one van and four maintenance contracts in Ikoyi.
First new installation, a four car group at a Victoria Island office.
Abuja office opens in Wuse 2. Hospital contracts begin.
Remote monitoring launched. The rescue desk moves to round the clock staffing.
1,186 lifts and escalators kept, 86 staff, 41 minute average rescue arrival in Ikoyi and VI.
Safety
Every job starts with a lock off: the lift is isolated and tagged before anyone enters the shaft or pit. Engineers carry harnesses, gas detectors for pits, and work in pairs on the car roof.
We publish our safety record to clients every quarter. In 2025 we had no lost time injuries across 14,200 visits. Example figures for this demo.
Riders matter as much. Our door safety edges are tested every visit, and every lift we install or modernise has a rescue device and a working car phone.

Training
Every year we take twelve apprentices from technical colleges in Lagos and Abuja for a two year programme: classroom days at our Ikoyi workshop and field days with a senior engineer. Most stay with us.
Senior engineers do yearly refresher courses on controllers, drives and rescue procedures, and we run free rescue drills for the security teams of our client buildings.
