Ways to invest with Summit

Whether you want to pick your own shares, hand the work to a manager, or put a company's reserves to work, the path starts the same way: with a goal.

A simple path

How to begin

  1. Step 1

Decide what the money is for

School fees in five years, a house deposit in ten, retirement in twenty five. The goal decides how much risk makes sense.

  2. Step 2

Choose how hands on to be

Trade yourself with share trading, or hand it to a manager with a managed portfolio. Many clients do both.

  3. Step 3

    Start small and regular

A monthly amount from your salary smooths out the ups and downs. Clients can set a standing order from ₦5,000.

  4. Step 4

    Review once a year

Your adviser checks the plan with you every year, or sooner if your life changes.

Questions

Investing questions

Is investing in shares safe?

Shares can fall as well as rise, sometimes a lot. Spreading money across many companies and investing for five years or more lowers the risk but does not remove it.

Can I invest for my children?

Yes, through a trust account in your name for their benefit. Ask an adviser.

Do you offer fixed deposits?

No. We are a stockbroker. For savings you need instant access to, a bank account is the right place.
