December is coming: how to get your stock ready for peak season
From mid November to early January, our order volume doubles. Here is how sellers who do well in December prepare.
Every year the same pattern: orders climb from the middle of November, peak in the second week of December and fall off a cliff on the 24th. Sellers who plan in October sell more and sleep better.
The biggest mistake is late stock. Our docks are busiest in December, so stock sent on the 10th may not be on the shelf until the 12th. Send your December stock by 25 November.
The second mistake is running out of your best seller. Look at last year's top ten products and double the stock of the top three.
02Checklist
Do these this week.
- 01
Book dock slots
Before 25 November.
- 02
Double the top three
Based on last December.
- 03
Add gift wrap
Turn it on in your packing rules.
- 04
Share cut off dates
On your shop and Instagram.
- 05
Order packaging
Branded runs take ten days.
Cut off dates matter more in December. Same day Abuja still closes at 4pm, but the last safe day for Lagos is 20 December and for zone C states it is 16 December.
Finally, plan packaging. Gift wrap and thank you cards sell well in December, and branded runs take ten working days.
