Practice areas

Ten areas, drawn as one map

Most serious matters cross more than one area of law. We organise around your matter, not around our departments.

Areas 09 and 10

Also on the map

Two areas that work mostly alongside the others.

Area 09

Public law and regulatory

Licences and approvals from federal regulators, public procurement bids and challenges, and judicial review when an agency decision is unfair. Led by Zainab Garba with the disputes team.

Area 10

Private client and family

Wills, trusts, letters of administration, divorce, custody and family business succession, handled with discretion. Meetings can be held in a private room in chambers or by video.

Even when four teams are involved, one partner is responsible to you.

  2. One estimate

We give one written fee estimate for the whole matter.

  3. One weekly note

Long matters get a short weekly note, written for the client, not for lawyers.

Questions

About how we organise

Can I instruct only one team?

Of course. Most clients start with one matter and one team.

Do I pay more when several teams are involved?

No premium. You pay for the time or the fixed fees agreed, and the lead partner keeps overlap to a minimum.

How do I know which area my matter falls in?

Book a consultation and describe it. Client service will match you to the right partner, and the conflict check runs before you meet.
