The firm
A firm built on three promises
The truth early, the fee in writing and the phone answered. Twenty-eight years on, the promises are the same and the firm is much larger.
Our story
From two rooms to full chambers
- 1998
Two rooms and a borrowed generator
Three lawyers open an office in Wuse with a promise: the truth early, the fee in writing, the phone answered.
- 2006
Energy and banking teams form
Work on early gas and power projects brings lenders, and a banking team follows.
- 2014
Chambers in Gwarinpa
The firm moves to its own building, with a library, mediation rooms and parking for clients.
- 2020
Video consultations for every area
The pandemic years make remote meetings normal. We keep them, because clients in other states asked us to.
- 2026
Sixty-four lawyers, ten practice areas
A new technology and data practice joins the map, and the client area goes online.
Values
How we work, in five habits
These are written into every engagement letter, so you can hold us to them.
We tell you the truth early
If your case is weak, or your deal has a problem, you will hear it in the first meeting and in writing.
We put the fee in writing
Every matter has a written scope and a fixed, capped or phased fee before work starts.
We answer within a working day
Every message gets a reply within one working day, even if the reply is that we are still waiting on a registry.
We staff matters with care
A partner leads, an associate runs the day to day, and you know both names.
We keep your confidence
Conflict checks before every meeting, secure files and a clean desk policy across chambers.
We would rather lose a quote than surprise a client with an invoice.

Pro bono
Work we do for free, every year
Each lawyer gives at least 40 hours a year to pro bono work, coordinated by a partner.
We run a monthly free legal clinic for market traders and artisans in Gwarinpa and Kubwa, with a lawyer and a pupil on hand to read contracts, tenancy agreements and demand letters. In 2025 the clinic saw over 600 people (example figure).
We also act for a small number of charities and community groups on governance and land matters, and we support the Legal Aid Council with volunteer counsel when they ask.
Pupils and NYSC members at the firm spend part of their year on the clinic. It is the best training we know in explaining law plainly.
Consultations
Book a consultation with the right partner
Forty-five minutes, in chambers in Gwarinpa or by video, for ₦50,000 (example rate), credited to your first invoice. We run a conflict check before we meet.
