The courseEighteen holes along the river
A par 72 parkland course of 6,940 yards from the back tees, shaped around the river, the lake and the old trees that were here before us.
Greens are paspalum, tees and fairways are zoysia. Both cope well with harmattan.
Hole by hole
The front nine follows the river and the lake. The back nine climbs to the ridge, passes the fairway homes and comes home under the clubhouse.
Stroke index 1 is the 9th, a long par 4 into the prevailing wind. The 14th, a drivable par 4 for long hitters, is the easiest on the card and the most fun.

Five holes people talk about
Hole 1, par 4
The River tee
The opening drive is the best view on the estate. Water left all the way, so the safe line is right of the big iroko.
Hole 4, par 3
The lake carry
178 yards over water. There is more room behind the green than you think, and nothing short.
Hole 11, par 5
The fairway homes
Reachable in two for strong players, with a bunker that eats lay-ups at 100 yards.
Hole 18, par 4
Home
Uphill, into the wind, with the whole Long Room terrace watching. A par here wins a lot of matches.
