Male fertility is half of the conversation
When a couple is trying for a baby, questions often fall on the woman first. Yet the male partner's health is part of the picture in around half of the journeys we see.

Why we look at both partners
Fertility is shared. Testing both partners at the start means fewer months of uncertainty and a fairer conversation at home. It also means no one carries the questions alone.
A semen analysis is simple, painless and private. It looks at the number of sperm, how well they move and their shape. Results are explained in person by a doctor.
What happens at men's clinic
Men's clinic runs every Saturday from 9am to 1pm, with its own entrance by the garden. You check in with a nurse, provide a sample in a private room, and then have a short conversation with me or a colleague about general health.
Results take three working days. We call you to arrange a time to explain them, in person or by phone, never by text.
What results can and cannot tell us
A single result is a snapshot. Many things affect it, including recent illness, fever, stress and long hours in hot conditions. If something looks unusual, we often suggest a repeat test after a few weeks before drawing any conclusions.
Everyday things that help
General health matters. Regular sleep, moving your body, cutting down on smoking and alcohol, and keeping laptops off your lap all support sperm health. None of these is a cure; they are simply good care.
If you work long hours in heat, such as near generators or ovens, mention it. It is useful information, not a judgement.
Talking about it at home
Many men find this conversation hard. That is normal. Our counsellor sees men alone or with their partners, and the support circle is open to men too.
General information only. It does not replace a consultation with your own doctor.
Questions readers ask
Can my partner come to men's clinic?
Yes. Partners are welcome in the waiting room and at the results conversation.
What if I feel emotional during the visit?
That is very common. Take your time; we can pause, bring water, or continue another day.
Is everything I share kept private?
Yes. Your file is seen only by your care team, and results are never sent by text.
