Rayfield HQ
Built on the plateau, used across the country
Ledgerwise started in Rayfield, Jos, in 2017, and we are still here, ten minutes from the rock formations, with a team that has run payroll themselves.
Timeline
Our road so far
- 2017
Three desks in Rayfield
Pwajok, Dachung and Ifeoma built the first version for a dairy in Vom that was tired of payroll by hand.
- 2019
Compliance Court opens
Schedules for every state tax office, after a customer in Kaduna got a penalty for the wrong format.
- 2021
Payslips on WhatsApp
Because nobody was opening the emails.
- 2023
Time Tower and the biometric kit
Built with a steelworks in Bukuru that had one gate book and 230 people.
- 2025
Payouts through Receivly
One approval to pay every bank in the country.
- Today
1,400 employers, 86,000 people
Still in Rayfield, now 38 people, most of whom have run a payroll themselves.
Why Jos
Cool weather, clear heads, honest prices
We could have moved to Lagos. We stayed because the plateau is a good place to think, our team wanted to stay near family, and our costs stay low enough to keep prices fair. About a third of our customers are in the North Central; the rest are everywhere.
We still answer the phone ourselves. If you call, a person in Rayfield picks up.
