What you get

A complete frame, not just steel on a lorry

We start from how you will use the building: forklift heights, trailer turning, racking, cranes and future extensions. Then we size the frame so you are not paying for steel you do not need. A typical 24 metre warehouse uses about 30 kilogrammes of steel for every square metre of floor.

  • Columns, rafters, haunches, purlins and side rails
  • Wind bracing and gable framing with door openings set out
  • Roof sheets, ridge caps, gutters and downpipes
  • Optional wall cladding, translucent roof panels and whirlybird vents

Specifics

Built for our climate

Rain and wind

Frames are designed for gusts of up to 45 metres per second, with gutters sized for the heaviest July storms in Ibadan.

Heat

Ridge vents, reflective aluzinc and optional insulation keep stored goods cooler. We set roof pitch and overhangs to shade the walls.

Growth

End frames can be designed as future middle frames, so a later extension bolts on without taking the gable apart.

Questions

About steel buildings

How long does a warehouse take?

For a 24 by 48 metre building, about three weeks of fabrication after drawings are approved and two to three weeks on site. The estimator gives a time range for your size.

Do I need planning approval?

Yes, from the state physical planning authority. We provide structural drawings and calculations for your submission and can sit in on meetings with your architect.

Can the building be moved later?

Bolted portal frames can be taken down and re-erected. We number every member, so a move is far cheaper than a new frame.

Will the roof leak?

Not if it is fixed right. We use self-drilling screws with sealing washers, side-lap stitching and proper flashings, and we come back after the first rainy season to check.

Next step

Got drawings, or just a sketch on paper?

Send what you have. An estimator will price it, suggest where steel can be saved and book a free site survey anywhere in Oyo, Ogun, Osun or Ondo State.
