Muslim funerals
Prompt, dignified care in line with Islamic practice
We understand that burial should take place as soon as possible, often on the same day. Our Muslim attendants, men and women, prepare your person with respect, and we work with your imam and the family on every step.
The steps
How the days usually unfold
Every family is different. This is the usual order; we will follow yours.
- I
First call
We come quickly to the home or hospital. We help obtain the medical certificate so that burial is not delayed.
- II
Ghusl, the washing
In our washing rooms, separate for men and women, by family members if you wish, or by our trained Muslim attendants of the same sex.
- III
Kafan, the shroud
Plain white cloth, three pieces for a man and five for a woman, provided by us or by the family.
- IV
Janazah prayer
At the mosque or open ground your imam chooses. We provide the bier and transport.
- V
Burial
At the Muslim cemetery or a family plot, with the grave prepared in advance. No embalming and no casket unless the authorities or the family require one.
- VI
Condolence and prayers
Families often receive visitors for three days. Some hold prayer gatherings on later days; we can provide mats, chairs and canopies.

Questions
Questions families ask
Can burial happen at night?
Yes, if your imam and the cemetery agree. We work through the night when needed.
What if a post-mortem is required?
We speak with the hospital and the authorities to keep any delay as short as possible, and keep the family informed at every stage.
Can women from the family perform the washing?
Yes. Our women's washing room is private, and our women attendants can guide or assist.
We are here, day and night
Call us at any hour. A member of our team answers, not a machine, and there is never any pressure to decide anything on the first call.
