How a session runs

Sixty minutes, five parts

Every group session at Crown Courts follows the same shape, so players always know what comes next and parents know what they are paying for.

  1. 01

    Warm up with the ball

Ten minutes of footwork ladders and mini tennis. No standing in queues.

  2. 02

    One skill, taught well

A single focus per session: a grip, a swing shape or a serve toss.

  3. 03

    Drill it under pressure

Live ball drills with targets, scores and a little noise.

  4. 04

    Play points

Every session ends in games, because tennis is a game first.

  5. 05

    Cool down and one note

Stretches in the shade and one thing to practise before next time.

Ball stages

Slower balls, smaller courts, faster progress

Children learn faster with balls that bounce at their height. We follow the international ball stages from red to yellow.
