A day at Crestwood

From the gate at 7:30 to the bus at 3

7:30

Hello at the gate

Teachers greet every child by name. Parents stay outside the classroom so children walk in on their own, a small daily step towards independence.

Circle time

A song, the weather, the date and who is here today. In Children's House the oldest child leads the circle.

The work cycle

Three quiet hours with real materials: pouring, counting beads, sandpaper letters and maps. Each child chooses the work, the teacher guides.

Garden and play

Out to the garden and the field. We water the pepper plants, chase the football and climb the frame under the almond tree.

Why parents choose us

Calm classrooms, curious children

How Montessori works
  1. Children learn by doing

Beads for maths, sandpaper letters for reading, real jugs for pouring. Ideas stay because hands remember.

  2. Teachers who watch first

Every child has a learning plan, updated weekly from what the teacher sees.

  3. Small, mixed-age classes

Younger children learn from older ones, older ones learn by helping.

  4. Safe and steady

CCTV at the gates, a school nurse on site, and solar power so fans and lights stay on.

Parents say

From families at Crestwood

Our son cried at every school before this one. On his third day at Crestwood he told us to go home.

Imaobong, example parent, Ewet Housing

She comes home and wants to cook, sweep and count everything. We did not teach her that.

Example parent, Shelter Afrique

The teachers know my children better than some of our relatives do.
