Painting outside in the rainy season
When to start, when to wait and how we protect fresh paint from an afternoon downpour.
A painter’s year in Enugu
The best time for each job
Harmattan: perfect for exteriors, paint dries fast. Indoors, keep windows shut while painting.
Hot and dry. Book exteriors early before the rains begin.
Rainy season: interiors, offices and churches. Exteriors only in dry spells.
Rains ease. Survey and book exteriors for the dry season.
Quick tips
Three things to do before the painters arrive
Clear the walls
Take down pictures, shelves and curtains. We can do it, but you know where the screws go.
Move what you can
Push furniture to the middle of the room. We cover it with clean sheets.
Decide on the light
Look at your sample patches at night as well as by day before you choose.
