How faculty work

Teaching is the job

Faculty are judged first on teaching. Every session is reviewed by participants, and every faculty member observes a colleague each term.

  • Office hours on every teaching day
  • Written feedback on every case analysis within ten days
  • At least one new case written each year
  • Practitioner faculty still working in industry

Research

What faculty study

Recent themes from our research centre on African firms.

Family firms and succession

How second-generation owners professionalise without losing what made the business work.

Operating through FX swings

How finance teams in import-dependent firms plan, price and hedge.

Trust in teams

What builds accountability in organisations where hierarchy runs deep.

Speaker addressing a large audience

Guest executives

In the room most weeks

Chief executives, regulators and founders join classes to hear participants argue about decisions they once made. They come to learn as much as to share. All guests speak under the school’s confidentiality rule.

Hearing forty managers take apart my decision was the most useful board meeting I had all year.

Example guest, chief executive of a distribution company
