Since August, every carton that leaves Cable Point carries a small temperature logger. When the distributor scans the carton on arrival, the journey’s temperature record appears on their screen.
Why it matters
Most of our range is stable below 30 °C, but a lorry parked in the sun on the Benin to Ore road can reach far higher. Chewable tablets and syrups are the most sensitive.
If we cannot see the journey, we cannot promise the product.
How it works
The logger records every ten minutes. If a carton spends more than two hours above its limit, the distributor is told not to sell it and we replace it free.
What we have learned
In the first three months, 1.4% of cartons went above their limit, almost all on two routes. We have changed departure times on those routes to travel at night.
For pharmacists
Ask your distributor for the logger record of any carton. Direct trade orders include it on the Receivly receipt.
