Halcrest / Quality
Tested,
then released
Quality at Halcrest reports to the managing director, not to production. If a batch fails, it does not leave Cable Point, whatever the order book says.
Check a batch
Enter the batch number from the side of the pack. It starts with HC and is printed next to the expiry date.
What we test
| Stage | Tests | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Raw materials | Identity, purity, moisture, microbial count | Every container |
| In-process | Weight, hardness, thickness, friability | Every 30 minutes |
| Finished product | Assay, dissolution, uniformity, impurities | Every batch |
| Packaging | Print check, seal integrity, leaflet version | Every batch |
| Stability | Long term and accelerated storage studies | Three batches a year per product |
The laboratory
Twenty-two analysts work in two shifts. Every result is entered twice and checked by a second analyst before a batch can be released.
Suspect products
Counterfeit and diverted medicines harm patients and pharmacies. If a pack looks wrong, the print is blurred or the batch does not check out, keep it aside and tell us.
Report a suspect product- Look at the print
Halcrest packs have sharp lagoon print and an embossed H on the flap.
- Check the batch
Every genuine batch is in our records above.
- Check the seal
Bottles and tubs have an unbroken foil seal under the cap.
