Fixed fares

Thirty-four trucks
Owned and maintained at the pit, with drivers who know the city by landmark as well as by street.
We run twenty 20-tonne tippers, eight 10-tonne tippers for the old city and six 30-tonne trailers for estate roads and big pours. Every truck carries a tarpaulin, because uncovered loads are against the law on the main roads and nobody wants dust in their face at a junction.
Trucks are serviced in our own workshop on a 5,000 kilometre cycle. If a truck breaks down on the way to you, the dispatcher swaps the load onto the next one and calls you with a new time.
Our drivers work in two shifts. The early shift leaves at six for city jobs; the second covers outer towns after the morning rush on the Zaria and Hadejia roads.
When we deliver
Three windows a day, Monday to Saturday. Early windows are the most popular, so book them a few days ahead.

Covered loads
Every truck is sheeted before it leaves the weighbridge.
Weighed twice
Empty and full, so the ticket shows exactly what you paid for.
Speed limited
Trucks are limited to 60 km per hour and tracked from the dispatch office.
Phone ahead
The driver calls ten minutes out and again if anything changes.
About haulage
Why per trip and not per tonne?
A truck costs nearly the same to run whether it carries 15 tonnes or 20, so per trip is fairer and simpler.
Do you deliver on Sundays?
Not as a rule. For big pours we can arrange a Sunday trailer with a week’s notice.
Out of state?
Yes, to Jigawa, Katsina and Kaduna on 30-tonne trailers. Call for a quote.
Can I track the truck?
The dispatcher can tell you where it is at any time. Account customers get a live link by WhatsApp.
