Non-surgical first

Most people we see never need an operation

Physiotherapy, weight and activity advice, bracing, and image guided injections help many joint and back problems. When we do recommend surgery, we explain why the other options are unlikely to be enough for you, and you are welcome to take time or a second opinion.

Questions

About treatments

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly. If your GP or another hospital has written to us, bring the letter and any scans on a disk or phone.

Can I get an MRI on the same day?

Often, yes, if the consultant requests it and you are self-paying or your HMO approves it quickly. Otherwise we book it within a few days.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Our children's orthopaedic clinic runs on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a play corner and a paediatric nurse.

Next step

Ready to talk it through?

A first consultation is 40 minutes with a consultant, with X-ray on the same visit if you need one. Bring any scans you already have.
