Bulwark began in two rooms above a bookshop near the Yaba bus stop. Today we protect 86,000 policies across Lagos, and we still answer our own phones.

History
Our story
Three former claims adjusters started Bulwark because they were tired of explaining to families why a policy did not pay. They wanted cover written in plain words, priced fairly, with a person on the end of the phone.
We began with motor cover for Yaba taxi owners. Home cover followed in 2003, health plans with our HMO partners in 2011, and life cover in 2016.
We are still a Lagos company. Our claims handlers work in Yaba, our assessors live in the areas they cover, and our agents are traders, retired teachers and young graduates who know their streets.
