Atelier Noir / The film
The lookbook film
Noir Mint was shot over two nights in our courtyard and on a dry field outside Ibadan. Here is reel B in full, the stills, and how each look was made.
The long black line
Low-data mode is on, so the film is paused. Every look is still listed above as a still.
The film is made from stills, not video, so it plays smoothly on a phone in traffic on Third Mainland Bridge and costs almost nothing in data. Tap a mark on the timeline to jump to a look.

Heavy satin backed with cotton so it never clings in Lagos heat.

The only yellow in the collection, a nod to the danfo buses outside the studio gate.
- 00:15Menswear in print
A matching jacket and trouser in a print we drew in the studio, for grooms who want to stand apart.
- 00:20Resting in adire
Indigo silk dyed by hand. No two capes share the same pattern.
- 00:25Harmattan light
The last frame, shot at six in the morning when the dust turns the sky the colour of our mint.
