Caring for fine cloth
Silk
Dry clean only, and never in the same load as dark adire. Steam rather than iron; keep the steamer a hand’s width away.
Lace and beading
Store flat in acid-free tissue. Hanging a beaded gown stretches it over time.
Wool and mohair
Brush after wearing, rest a day between wears and use cedar blocks, not mothballs.
The humidity question
Lagos humidity is hard on fine cloth. Keep garments in breathable cotton bags, never plastic, and run a small dehumidifier in the wardrobe in the rainy season.

Care questions
Do you alter garments from other designers?
Yes, unless the fabric is too fragile to open safely. We will tell you honestly at pickup.
How long do alterations take?
Four to six working days. Express in 48 hours for an extra 50%.
Can you rescue a stained silk?
Often, yes. We work with a specialist cleaner in Surulere and will quote before starting.
