02 / How it works
From seed to sale
Farm visit
A field officer visits your farm, checks the land and agrees the plan with you.
Inputs, not cash
Most of the loan pays seed, fertiliser and agro-dealers directly, so it goes into the ground.
Grow
Officers visit during the season. Weather alerts come by SMS in English and Hausa.
Sell and repay
Repay in one go after harvest, or in two parts if you store and sell later.
Questions
Questions people ask
What if the harvest fails?
Talk to your field officer early. We restructure loans after bad weather and many loans include crop insurance through a partner (example).
Do I need land papers?
A letter from the village head or your farmers’ group is enough for loans under ₦3 million.
Can a group borrow together?
Yes. Farmer groups of five or more get lower rates (example).
